PARAGRAPH II:
“Speak no evil day” is supposed to be a day about eliminating hurtful, spiteful, and just plain mean words that are spoken to another human being. Yet, Tulshken want to allow journalist to report “relevant negative items” while he limits everyone else from saying, “disseminating rumors, particularly negative one”. How is one to determine who is allowed to talk bad about anyone else, even if they may or may not be true. They are still negative rumors. There is always some way to twist a scenario to make it relevant to one’s topic of discussion. Deserved criticism is apparently not allowed, although there are those instances where someone needs to be told that they are in the wrong; otherwise how will they ever know that some of their actions inflict pain on to another person. The idea of the golden rule: “speak about others with the same kindness and fairness that they wish others to exercise when speaking about them” is a more appropriate way to approach communicating with others. No one wants anyone to speak down to him or her, make them feel insignificant. Perhaps human beings should go into the criticism with a positive approach, offering good words about the person or there actions before pointing out something they might want to consider changing. No one can make another human change the way they speak to someone unless that person wants to see if they might be doing something wrong. There is always a way to alter one’s speech to inflict the least about of deterioration of someone’s emotional standings.

  1. "How is one to determine who is allowed to talk bad about anyone else, even if they may or may not be true. They are still negative rumors."

That's a great path to follow with your paragraph, but an example would really help here. What's an example of a murky negative disclosure, one that confuses between what's necessary and what's just plain gossip?

After parsing this out, you'd set yourself up for a nice discussion of deserved criticism.

Great ideas here...potential for a nice essay!
